The majority of our journey will take place in a small district. This destination has become a prime bird watching spot in Papua and is the natural habitat of the Bird of Paradise. The area consists of swamp forest, grassland, scrub land, and coastal forest. This unique and biodiversity region will immerse you in the wild throughout your journey.

Outline Itinerary

Day. 01 : Jayapura Arr. - Afternoon birding
Arrive at Sentani Airport Jayapura, meeting service and then transfer by car to village. If time allows, enjoy light birding en route in nearby grasslands, spotting species such as Grand Munia, Crimson Finch, Fawn-breasted Bower bird, etc.
Meals: Lunch and Dinner
Day. 02 : Full Day Bird watching
Wake up early in the morning and we start to exploring the forest, focusing on spotting 3–4 species of birds-of-paradise, including the Twelve-wired, Lesser, King Bird-of-Paradise, and Pale-billed Sickle bill. On the way back, we stop at the highest hill to watch birds in flight. Afternoon trip, we will visit the bird hides spot of Papuan Pitta, Hooded Pitta, Common Paradise Kingfisher, and general birding.

Day. 03 : Full Day Bird watching
Wake up early in the morning, focus on the Magnificent Riffle Bird.
This trip requires good stamina as we will trek through rocky forest terrain to reach the display spot where this bird performs. The area we will explore is also home to brush turkey, and if we are lucky, we may catch a glimpse of them as we walk through the forest. In the afternoon we will continue the afternoon birding around mainroad.

Day. 04 : Morning birding and transfer to the airport / Jayapura Depart.
Today, we will conclude our trip with a final morning birding to focus on Magnificent Bird of Paradise, followed by breakfast at the lodge before heading to the airport.
