[Biak Bird Photography Tour] - 9 to 12 August'2025

Hi everyone...😁... My trip this month, from August 9th to 11th, has ended and the next day, as before, I picked them up at the hotel and took them to the airport for their connecting flight to Jayapura (actually this is my 3rd trip for this month but for my private trip it was the 1st trip on this month). Now, I want to share a little story about my trip a few days ago, especially for Bird Photography.

Day 1: Upon arrival at the hotel, check-in and breakfast. After lunch at a local restaurant, we continued our journey to our first destination, the Biak Paradise Kingfisher, until the late afternoon, then we tried to find the Scoops Owl, but we weren't so lucky today. 😖

Day 2: Today, we left the hotel at 5.30 am for our next destination, Pitta, by car. Upon arrival, we had breakfast and waited until it was light. Then, we walked to the bird hide and returned to town straight to a local restaurant for lunch. We started our afternoon tour at 14.30 pm to look for other endemic birds. We tried again in the afternoon to find a Scoops Owl, then returned to town and headed straight to a local restaurant for dinner.

Day 3Today we left the hotel at the same time as yesterday, at 5.30 am and then we split into two groups. The first group (3 people) returned to Pitta, and the second group went to Lori's spot. It was a lucky day for us, as all groups managed to find their targets. The afternoon trip started at 15.00 pm and ended at 17.30 pm, returning to town and heading straight to a local restaurant for dinner at 18.30 pm. After dinner, we went back to look for owls and managed to get a very good shot (very close to us)....😎
